Su: awesome turkish food in Verdun

by ophelielechat

I moved to Verdun last summer.  On my long walk up and down Wellington street, I’ve seen a lot of interesting restaurants, and some neat new businesses.  Unfortunately, whenever I meet friends out for supper, we meet downtown or on the Plateau.   A lot of people seem to be Verdun-phobic!

Tonight, I went to Su with my dad.  The reviews are glowing, and I’ll have to add my praise to the chorus of voices.   The calamari was lightly fried in a tasty, salty batter.  I’ve become used to bland, greasy rings of calamari, but this was something else.   I had the beef ravioli in a yogurt-tomato sauce.  The portion was just right for such a heavy meal, and it was super tasty.   For dessert, I had a desert made from sesame paste, lemon and pistachios, with a cup of strong, smooth turkish coffee.  Awesome.

Dad and I talked about, well, what everyone else is talking about — new laws in Afghanistan,  the Caisse de Dépot buying the Habs, etcetera.
