Spring run

Last week, I started the Couch to 5k program.   Today was week 2, day 1 — intervals of 90 seconds of running and two minutes of walking.  Sounds easy, right?  

It was a lot of fun, but it was not easy!  I got a stitch in my side halfway through the session, and I was completely out of breath.  It felt so good, though!  A really nice day for running. 

I run by the water in Verdun, a few minutes from my apartment.  The walk there is my warm-up, then I run on the path, by the swimming pool, the garden, the hospital.  Today is the first day where there was no ice on the river, and only a few snowbanks still lingering around.   I saw a heron standing in the water.  I also saw a whole bunch of dead fish in a stream, bloated and white. 

It was terribly hot while I was walking home.  It’s about 10 degrees (c) today,  but it felt like 35 to me.  I’m loving this.
