As a journalism student, I hear and read about the internet revolution and how it affects journalism almost daily. One thing I’ve kept in mind, though, is that written journalism has survived the advent of radio and television. I recently read The Economics of the American Newspaper, which notes that, in 1979, newspapers were nervous about competition from television. Some predicted the end of written news.
